De León Scholars Program
The De León Scholars Program recognizes two students every year who demonstrate unique capacities with the intent of helping them realize their maximum potential. The Scholars group is a fellowship of individuals who share an interest in pursuing academic improvement, economic or social entrepreneurship, and scientific or technological change. The aim of the Scholars Program is to develop compassionate global citizens who become effective leaders in their communities.
These students are talented young people who are creating substantial impact in their daily lives and in the lives of others. They exhibit academic excellence and a commitment to thoughtful leadership. Our singular objective is to encourage these dynamic individuals with financial support, if needed, during their time in the Upper School. Furthermore, we would like to offer support with our global business and financial network as recipients put their talent, work ethic and original ideas into action beyond the Alcuin campus.

As part of the Scholars Program, students will be able to tap into a group of like-minded leaders.

If needed, students may apply for full or partial tuition assistance at Alcuin School that is not already covered by other financial aid and the expected family contribution.

- Be in good academic standing
- Provide letters of recommendation from a teacher or administrator

An ideal candidate will have:
- An outstanding academic record
- Demonstrated leadership ability (e.g., as shown through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities)
- Exceptional personal skills (e.g., emotional maturity, motivation, perseverance)
APPLICATION CRITERIA
- Demonstrated leadership in academic and/or extracurricular activities
- Transcript
- Completed application including personal essay
- One or two letters of recommendation from a teacher or administrator
- Financial need - if applicable
TIMELINE
- March 31 - deadline to submit applications
- April 20th - select interviews will be conducted
- April 30th - Scholars selected
