The Hawk Athletics program is committed to the total physical, emotional, and social development of student-athletes, beginning with the school’s signature Motor Development Lab for students as young as age three. As students grow and develop, the physical education program provides age-appropriate opportunities to gain self-confidence, develop discipline, and experience a love of sports at all levels. This holistic approach to athletics is equally as important as fielding competitive teams and winning championships.
Like the Montessori and IB philosophies, Alcuin embraces an inclusive approach that benefits the whole student through positive encouragement and constructive feedback.
Competitive sports begin in the 5th grade and continue through high school at the TAPPS 2A level. Eighty-five percent of Alcuin students participate in team sports, with a choice of more than 30 teams and nine sports to choose from. Every student who is willing to put in the time, effort, and commitment will be afforded the opportunity to compete.
Alcuin is dedicated to helping student-athletes excel on and off the field, with the belief that the thrill of victory coupled with the lessons of teamwork, sacrifice, and sportsmanship will encourage students to live a healthy and active life for today and tomorrow.
