Family Referrals

Referrals of families to outside professionals for diagnostic evaluation and/or individualized intervention
On-Campus Interviews

Coordination of on-campus interventions provided by private academic tutors, speech-language therapists, occupational therapists, etc.

Confidential communication with professionals working with students off campus
Ongoing Consultation & Collaboration

Ongoing consultation and collaboration with parents, relevant faculty members, Division Directors, and (when appropriate) students regarding learning and academic success

Design and coordination of school accommodation plans and inclusive assessment arrangements for students with identified disabilities

Meet the Team

Alcuin’s student support team of full-time dedicated professionals works collaboratively, carefully, and confidentially to assist students in their academic, social, and emotional development.

Health Office

Alcuin’s Health office is staffed with two registered nurses who to care for students’ health and medical needs during and after school hours and on most overnight trips. Students may access the Health Office to address their issues including illness, seasonal allergies, cuts, headaches, etc. All prescription medications and physical/health accommodations for students are handled by this office.
On-Campus Tours

Recognizing that some students may need additional academic support, Alcuin provides space in the Underhill Library for private tutoring sessions from experienced, non-staff professionals. Tutoring sessions can be scheduled at times before, during, and after school.
Advisory Programs

As they begin to experience rapid growth in their personal, social, and emotional lives, students in Middle and Upper School are active participants in the school’s Advisory Program. In this age-level group setting, students slow down and reflect on every aspect of their academic experience. From fine-tuning study skills to understanding their unique place in the world, and participating in traditional Advisory competitions like Balloon Bash, students learn to encourage and support each other while building lifelong friendships, all with the guidance and support of dedicated faculty.
