Ian Galbraith

Ian has been immersed in the Montessori world for over four decades. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, he was exposed to the wonders of Montessori education during his ten-year stint at Alcuin.

Ian earned a business degree from the University of San Francisco, and MBA in finance and management from the University of Notre Dame, where he met his wife, Hilary, a fellow MBA, in the school bookstore.

Ian spent most of his professional career at Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber Company, where he held multiple leadership positions as a fourth-generation family member. He was active in the company's leadership, joining the Board of Directors in 2019 until the 121-year-old company sold in late 2022. In early 2023, Ian started Lennox Partners, a consulting and investment company delivering growth strategies and operating efficiencies to family and founder-run companies.

Ian’s passion for Montessori education is deeply rooted in his family.  His mother and aunt were both Montessori educators, and his uncle, James Galbraith III, was one of the early leaders in the creation of Alcuin.  Ian and Hilary are proud parents to two young children, Karen and James, enrolled in Alcuin.
