Bill Barfoot

Bill Barfoot joined the Alcuin community in 2012 and serves as the Director of Student Support.
This role involves ensuring that students with identified differences receive appropriate educational accommodations and support, consulting with teachers and parents regarding emerging concerns that may arise about a child’s learning and related areas of functioning, and serving as a liaison in providing referrals to and collaborating with outside professionals who may work with students in providing supplemental interventions.
 
Prior to coming to Alcuin, Bill worked at The Winston School for 11 years. He earned his B.A. degree with a major in Psychology from Emory University followed by his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. During his over two decades of working in independent school settings, Bill also served as a lecturer at The University of Texas at Dallas for 15 years, teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in exceptional children, child psychopathology, and clinical psychology.
 
Bill and his wife, Renee, have two daughters, Caroline and Ella Kate. Outside of work, he enjoys cycling, playing guitar, traveling with his family, and just generally enjoying the outdoors.
