Embracing life and enjoying teaching shapes how she lives, loves, and teaches.
Christy Chang joined Alcuin in 2022 as a Lower Elementary Mandarin Teacher who teaches 1st – 4th level students. She was born in Taiwan, came to the United States in 2008, and obtained her master’s degree in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language.) at Indiana State University.
This is Chang’s 12th year in the teaching field and her eighth year of teaching Mandarin Chinese in the U.S. Being a teacher has been her dream since she was a little girl. Chang is passionate about teaching Mandarin and broadening her students’ horizons, providing them with opportunities to explore a whole new world through learning and gaining insights into different perspectives through cultures and customs.
Beyond the classroom, her passions include baking, singing, indulging in horror movies, and cherishing moments with her two boys. A sweet and supportive wife, Chang also makes it a point to hit the slopes for snowboarding every winter season in any state adorned with snow-white landscapes. Embracing life and enjoying teaching shapes how she lives, loves, and teaches.
